Kids in the Country!

This August I will be spending a whole week with inner-city youth, in the middle of God's green earth. No running water, no electricity, just us and the country! I am so excited! I am the arts and crafts lady, so I will be cooking up lots of fun little crafts for the kids to be doing. Suggestions are very much needed, I have no idea what city kids like to craft. I think I am going to have at least one big project that everyone has to work on together, something that we can leave at the camp. Not sure what that is just yet, but I really want it to be hard (har, har, har). Any ideas or websites that have ideas? Let me know! I am SO excited! This photo is Mink Lake camp in the winter time. I was there two winters ago with ROC. It will look very different in the summer!

Sluggy Slugger

Yesterday I went to the doctor and had a check up for my pnemonia. My doctor wanted to do another chest x-ray to make sure the crud is going away. The x-ray still showed  a lot of junk, but it is way better than it was before. She showed me my first x-ray which was unbelievable, on an x-ray your lungs should look black, mine were almost all white. YIKES! So they also checked my blood oxogen levels with and without oxogen, and my doctor decided to drop me down to only wearing it when I am sleeping. It is SO nice to not wear it all the time.

Most of you who don't see me everyday don't know that I am tired ALL the time. Never ending. I also need to be in bed until almost noon. Then I am groggy until 4 or 5. It is really weird. I asked my doctor about this as well and she says that my body is still fighting very hard to fight off this crap and get my lungs back to normal.
I am so excited to go back to work, I miss it so much. I asked Dr. Abrahamson when she thought I would be ready to go back. She said about 2 weeks I should feel much better, and try to create a new sleeping pattern. Slowly but surely I will get back to normal as my body gets better. I already fell off the wagon. I was going to wake up at 8 today and really try to stay up until the kids took a nap. Well I just made it out of bed (11:44). There is always tomorrow.

What a comfort!

To have a good friend home has been a comfort.

One of my longest friends it home for the first time in
five months, and while having weirdness with another friend it has been very comforting to have her here. Her Words of wisdom have been so uplifting. I remember how much I miss her everyday!! Thank you Jess!

Happy Home

I am so happy to be home. I love to be back in the swing of family life.  I am tired and feel like crap, but I am so much better recovering at home. The oxogen tank is a little restricting, but I can still leave home once in while (only for four hours at a time). Anywho...I really want to see Baby Mama so if anyone wants to join me let me know! Totally random!

I'm breaking Free....

I think I am going home.

I have been very sick and in the hospital for 9 days now. I came in the clinic with what I thought was a typical (but nasty) cold, and ended up being admitted in minutes. I guess I am a pretty bad at listening to my body. I got way worse and the doctors where very nervous. They initially thought there was some underline issue to my pnemonia, only because I am so young and I was not getting better. So then they talked about moving me to the U of M. Scary, scary, scary. Then all the sudden I got a little better and my doctor decided to bring the U to me. I saw a very nice lung specialist doctor who confirmed that I have no other problem except that I just happened to get very very ill. Now day 9 I still feel like crap, can't breathe, and my chest is killing me. However, I am very happy to go home. Today is the day. I am going home with an oxogen tank, and I guess that it will probably take me a good month to get better. Thats the whole short story, now I can't wait to be with my family again, and sleep in my bed. Thank you to everyone who came to see me, prayed for me, and supported my family.
