Today has been one big nasty day!
My van route started as usual, picked up my first client on my way to the next.....then the ice happened! Yup I came around the corner and there it was, no warning, no previous sign of ice...BOOM! The heavy 15 passenger van took over from there and the next thing I know we are headed into the ditch, but more importantly into a tree! Air bags, smoke, snow and a few screams. I am so thankful that I only had one client with me and not 15, and we were both not seriously injured. 3 policeman came along with an ambulance (a little crazy I'd say) checked the scene out and determined that by the time I saw the ice it was too late to do anything about it. It was also fun that they called a plowman to come sand the road right after it happened, I just wish that it would have been done earlier. So I am super sore now, and the doc said tomorrow I will be even more sore (not sure why), however the van has paid a greater price and I believe it has seen it's last day on the road.
P.s.
I also waited in the crazy cambridge clinic for 5 (not exaggeration) hours, just to find out I have no broken bones, just a very sore body.
